  • 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade

    The 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB) is the Rotary Wing Brigade of vCENTCOM.
    The Battalions within the CAB are tasked with with air assault, supply transport, attack, reconnaissance, and CASEVAC .

  • 1st Attack Reconnaissance Battalion (ARB), 82nd CAB

     

    1st Attack Reconnaissance Battalion (ARB), 82nd CAB

    Aircraft: AH-64D 

    Pilots: 20

     

    Flight Schedule: 

    Thursday 2000 Eastern

    Saturday 2000 Eastern

     

    Primary Mission: Reconnaissance, Reconnaissance-by-Fire, Aerial Surveillance, Security/Escort, Close Combat Attack (CCA), Deep Strike

     

    Secondary Mission: CAS, DEAD, FAC(A).

     

    Operating Restrictions: Armament should be loaded at FARP/off-field. No IFR capabilities but can operate in low visibility conditions using FLIR.

     

    Shut Down Criteria: if at any time 1-82 ARB is unable to field at least two pilots after their first 90 days, and no clear and direct plan for revitalizing the Battalion is available the Battalion shall be deemed non-mission capable.

    Aircraft: 8 UH-60L 

    Pilots: 10

     

    Flight Schedule:

    Thursday 2000 Eastern

    Saturday 2000 Eastern

     

    Primary Mission: Infiltration, Exfiltration, Resupply of Special Operation Forces, LZ/PZ Security, and Convoy Security in Day, Night or Marginal Weather Conditions

     

    Secondary Mission: CASEVAC

     

    Operating Restrictions: Underslung loads prohibited, radio navigation limited to NDB and VOR

     

    Shut Down Criteria: If at any time 2-82 AHB is unable to field at least two pilots after their first 90 days with no clear and direct plan for revitalizing the Battalion, the Battalion shall be deemed non-mission capable.
